The dancers of the Europaballett tell the well-known story of Carmen and Don José in expressive scenes. The story is based on Prosper Mérimée's novella and the popular opera by Georges Bizet. Based on the novella, Peter Breuer has created a new, gripping narrative ballet. The music is composed of motifs from the opera, excerpts from the Enigma Variations and the melodies of the Spanish group "Radio Tarifa". It tells the exciting story of the ruthless, headstrong Andalusian woman who breaks all the boundaries of social rules. Carmen is an artistic and cult figure. She embodies everything that men have always dreamed of - freedom, adventure and passion.
