BALLET GOES TO SCHOOL

Ballet for schools - an approach to art

Europaballett has been offering inspiring ballet school performances throughout Lower Austria for over 30 years. Our aim is to make the genre of ballet accessible to as many children and young people as possible. Ballet not only promotes creativity and sensitivity, but also plays an important role in the prevention of violence. At a time when children are often uncontrollably exposed to the digital world, we want to bring them back to the theater. With our simple and appealing ballet pieces, we create an ideal approach to art and offer pupils an unforgettable experience.

THE NUTCRACKER

Ballet fairy tale by E.T.A. Hoffmann and P. I. Tchaikovsky
from 4 years old

The immortal ballet classics by Peter I. Tchaikovsky are world-famous and never fail to enchant people of all ages. The ballet fairy tale "The Nutcracker" provides perfect winter and Christmas magic for the whole family. When Fritz is given a nutcracker for Christmas, he refuses the gift. Marie takes pity on the wooden nutcracker and takes it for herself. She falls asleep with him in front of a tree and in her dreams the nutcracker turns into a beautiful prince. However, the Mouse King wants to destroy this connection and so a battle ensues between the Nutcracker and the Mouse King. Mice, soldiers and lots of puppets accompany this dream, which shows that it is inner beauty that really counts.
A fairy tale from the pen of E.T.A. Hoffmann, staged and choreographed by Michael Fichtenbaum after Juri Grigorovitch.

THE LITTLE PRINCE

DANCE THEATER BASED ON THE STORY OF ANTOINE DE SAINT-EXUPERY
ages 4+

There may be thousands of roses, so why does the little prince love the prickly diva of his home star so much? It's the time we spend together that makes us so precious to each other, the fox teaches him. For generations, people have been fascinated by the little creature that leaves its home, an asteroid, to look around the earth and always gives us a new perspective on existence: "You can only see well with your heart. The essential is invisible to the eyes". As a plea for the totality of feeling in the search for friendship and humanity, this sentence forms the center of a modern fairy tale that Reiner Feistel dances for children and adults alike with the Europaballett ensemble.
