Fundraising for new sprung floor

New sprung ballet floors for the Europaballett after the ballet halls were damaged by the floods

The European Ballet is facing a challenging situation concerning our talented dancers and their health. During a training session, a ballet dancer performs up to 200 jumps - in comparison, an NBA basketball player jumps about 60 times during an entire game. This intense physical exertion requires a suitable training environment to prevent injuries and long-term damage.

Unfortunately, our training halls were flooded by the high water and the special ballet floors, which are essential for the gentle execution of the movements, were removed by the army. For two months now, our dancers have been training on a hard, partially concreted floor in the ballroom and on the stage. These conditions are not only unpleasant, but also pose a health risk.

In order to enable our dancers to train safely and prevent injuries, we urgently need a sprung floor on our stage. The company Harlequin, market leader in the field of ballet floors, has kindly offered us a special discount for facilities affected by flooding. Nevertheless, the total financing sum amounts to 16,000 euros.

At the same time, we are working on further alternative options for our training and would like to emphasize that the new ballet floor can continue to be used even after the renovation of our premises - which is expected to last until May.

We ask for your support during this difficult time. Every contribution will help us to provide a safe and appropriate training environment for our dancers and protect their health. Together we can ensure that Europaballett continues to thrive and our artists can reach their full potential.

Thank you for your support!
