Art auction for a new sprung floor for the Europaballett
At the last performance of the Europaballett, a significant step was taken towards restoring the training conditions for the dancers.
On the initiative of gallery owner Heinz Hausmann, an auction was held at which an impressive bust of solo dancer Florient Cador, created by artist Andreas Kindig, was auctioned off.
The entrepreneur Hans Drascher bought the bust at auction for 3,000 euros.
The proceeds from this auction will go towards a new ballet floor for the Europaballett.
Since the devastating floods in St. Pölten, the 100 dancers have no longer been able to train and rehearse in their usual surroundings.
The sprung floors were damaged by the water and had to be removed.
The dancers are currently training in the ballroom and on stage, but this is only a temporary solution.
A new sprung floor is crucial to prevent injuries. The floor currently used for training is very hard and puts a lot of strain on the dancers.
During a training session, a ballet dancer jumps up to 200 times, which increases the risk of injury.
A suitable sprung floor would not only improve comfort during training, but also ensure the safety and health of our dancers.
The costs for the new sprung floor amount to around 16,000 euros, despite the great concessions made by Harlequin.
A fundraising campaign was launched this week to cover the remaining amount.
We invite all art and dance lovers to become part of this important initiative and support the Europaballett in its mission.
