Successful premiere at the Ballet Theatre.
After the cancellation of our tour in March 2020, we were finally able to bring the production to St. Pölten.
Peter Breuer: "We have never rehearsed so long for a piece". In March 2020, the European Ballet started the tour of Mythos Coco at the Petöfi Theatre in Sopron. This was followed by further performances at the Coesfeld Concert Theatre and in Iserlohn. Due to the Covid pandemic, the planned dates in Fellbach and finally also in St. Pölten had to be postponed.
"The biggest challenge was to keep the dancers in good shape," says Artistic Director Michael Fichtenbaum. With well thought-out Covid prevention concepts, daily training and rehearsals could continue and everyone was waiting for the moment when they could finally dance in front of an audience again.
Choreographer Peter Breuer's biographical story ballet is dedicated to the myth of Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel - a woman who revolutionised the fashion world, inspired the art world and made herself a legend in her own lifetime.
In 1909 she founded a hat studio in Paris. During this time, she only designed fashion for herself and her friends. What counts for her is straightness and natural freedom of movement.
