30 years on stage - the Europaballett St. Pölten
The season presentation of the European Ballet on 24.09.2022 was marked by the 30th anniversary, the appointment of a new honorary member, Shida Mubaryakova, and the presentation of six new dancers in the ensemble. The company under the direction of Michael Fichtenbaum is considered an international talent factory, and he is all the more pleased that two young dancers, Zoe Klein and Emely Studer, can be accepted into the ensemble from the training program in combination with the sports performance center. Four dancers were selected from among 80 participants at the auditions in March. Sarah de Luca, Shion Ida, Valerie Testoni and Alessio Sautto. They have been members of the ensemble since September.
Shida Mubaryakova taught at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy and was a teacher for many years at the John Cranko Ballet Academy in Stuttgart, where Michael Fichtenbaum discovered her during his studies and was able to win her for St. Pölten. She was and is instrumental in the successes of the Europaballett. Many first soloists, such as Karina Sarkissova, Iryna Tsymbal, Maria Abashova or Natalia Kush can name her as a teacher and remember days full of training in St. Pölten. She plays an essential role in the international ballet world and her training methods are adopted by numerous ballet teachers. Anastasia Irmiyaeva (artistic director SommerTheaterPark and deputy director of Eurpaballet): "I would love to record every lesson with Shida to preserve her knowledge of the ballet body for posterity."
International performances in Hungary, Croatia, Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Canada and the USA are on the program for the 22/23 season. The Vienna State Opera has also been relying permanently on the dancers of the Europaballett since 2020. In 2022 in three productions, L'Orfeo, Die Meistersinger aus Nürnberg and in the revival of Madama Butterfly. Nevertheless, the main focus is on the program in the Theater des Balletts. The season will open on Oct. 15, 2022, with the Autumn Gala, followed by ballet and opera on Nov. 13, 2022.
